Personal Statement

I am a self-motivated third year degree student with a solid base of knowledge on a variety of IT topics. I strive for continued development and knowledge and am looking for a role to further my experience in systems management and networking. In the past I have fulfilled many roles including web development, graphic design and technical support. I have always had a keen interest in computing and at home I have setup my own “home lab”. It consists of various networking and server hardware which I use to learn different systems and configurations to further my knowledge in my spare time.

Work History

Freelance Designer (part time), 2011 - 2018

• Full-Stack Web Development

  This involved working with clients to create and design a solution for their business and to increase online presence. I wrote many of the sites from scratch (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP) and most sites were hosted on a Virtual Private Server that I administered (Debian, Apache, NGINX). I also worked with clients with hosting on their existing infrastructure and setting up ecommerce sites.

• Graphic Design

  In this role I worked with clients on projects that involved Brand Identity, logo design, poster, brochures and business cards.
